Marconi Stallions is proud to announce a fantastic new initiative for the women’s football program.
Following the announcement of scholarships in the men’s program, an additional nine scholarships have been allocated in the women’s program to help with the development of their football.
The players who are to receive the Marconi Stallions FC Football Scholarships are
U14 – Alyssa Ng-Saad
U15 – Bianca Salloman, Isabella Spagnolo, Christina Poutrus and Lara Soares
U17 – Lucy Fuccenneco, Helena Daniele, Charlotte Finnerty and Aimilee Constable
Women’s Head Coach and SAP Technical Director Andy Severin believes the new initiative will provide more opportunities for the women’s program.
“The Club has been great the last 1-2 years in bridging the gap between women and men’s football”, Severin said.
“The initiative will provide a holistic approach for football on both sides.
“I would like to thank the Directors of the Club, the football office and the Men’s First Grade Coach for all their support in making this happen.”
Scholarship recipient Helena Daniele believes the scholarship is a step in the right direction for all women.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity that has been provided for me and know this is going to further my development.”
The Club hopes that these scholarships will lead to an even bigger recognition for women’s football.
With the Women’s World Cup to follow – the interest in women’s football will continue to grow.
